Hemsley & Hemsley

I've always had an intolerance to some foods for as long as I can remember. Certain types of food leave me feeling bloated, lethargic and very ill. I was tested for coeliacs disease but the results came back negative.

Luckily enough I've always had a fast metabolism and never really have any problems with weight so essentially have lived life eating whatever I want. However, I have come to a point where I need to start taking better care of my body and eating 'healthier'. Not to lose weight, just to feel better.

When I was in London last week my friend Abbie told me about a friend of hers who started a healthy eating business with her sister, thus Hemsley & Hemsley was born.

The rules are basic- cut out processed foods and wheat and gluten. The thing that immediately drew me towards the diet was the fact that you don't have to cut out items that are high in fat (I could never ever live without cheese)

I officially cut out wheat and Gluten from my diet last week and already feel better. The constant bloat is gone! I never thought I could give up pasta and bread but there are so many alternatives that it hasn't really been an issue (just yet...)

Another great thing about it is the fact it stops you from being so lazy with cooking. I made the Steak with Califlower mash on the first night and couldn't believe how tasty it was (so good I've got through about 3 cauliflowers so far) and it was SO EASY!

The Hemsley sisters always state that you should buy organic where possible- especially meats! This can be really expensive to do but I'm starting slowly and will see how it works out. Reading through the tumblr page really does open your eyes to the mess we put inside our bodies.

It seems that people are starting to take note though as the girls now have a weekly recipe on Vogue.com! Tonight I am making the Hot Buckwheat Noodle Salad. I Can't wait!

Will post some photo's and let you know the verdict!
